The people means a large number of men, women and children in the same country.
民众是指同一个国家的男女老少。
Therefore the country protects the people.
因此国家保护着它的民众。
It provides plenty of public services for the people as well.

Different people have different customs and histories.

They also have different languages, cultures, religions and everything.
