二、Listen and Learn 内容透析
1. be headed to/head to：走向。He's headed to college this fall.他今年秋季将迈进大学。head for：前往，出发。People like to head for the beach to cool off. 人们喜欢到海滩来凉快凉快。have a head for sth：有着...才能。He has a head for math. 他数学很好。
2. execution：n.执行，实行，完成；演奏，表演技巧。比如：His original idea was good, but his execution of the scheme was disastrous. 他的设想很好，但实行起来却糟糕透顶。The pianist's execution of the concerto was marvellous. 那钢琴师弹的协奏曲神乎其技。execution在剧中指的是“死刑”。Convicted drug traffickers may face execution. 已经被定罪的毒贩子可能会被处以极刑。
3. 伙计：buddy, dude, chum, pardner(partner), guy, folks, gang. buddy-buddy：非常亲密的。比如：They're very buddy-buddy.他们非常亲密。buddy friend普通朋友。Is she your buddy friend or sweetheart friend? 她是你的普通朋友还是男女朋友？
4. All of a sudden：突然地，出乎意料的。比如：A question came to me all of a sudden.我突然想起了一个问题。
5. Man, that’s a dark thought.兄弟，这么想就消沉了。
6. Aren't we entitled to choose, just to be happy? 难道我们不能选择开心的生活吗？entitle to：给以权利；使有资格。This ticket can entitle you to have a free meal in this hotel.这张票可以让你在这个旅馆免费地吃一顿饭。be entitled to/be entitled to do something：有权享有，有(做某事)的权利(或资格)。He is entitled to high praise.他有资格得到高度赞扬。
7. What we're entitled to is a trust fund, maybe a house in the Hamptons, a prescription drug problem. 我们有权得到的只有信托资金。一幢汉普顿的房子, 以及由处方药引来的麻烦。trust fund：信托基金。prescription drug：处方药。give sb. a prescription/make a prescription：开处方。
8. Happiness does not seem to be on the menu. 幸福似乎不是我们要考虑的东西。on the menu：在菜单上，在选项内。
9. Kiss ass：拍马屁，巴结某人。kick ass：了不起的。比如：That's two kick ass women.那是两个了不起的女人。asshole：一个不雅的用语，表示对某人的厌恶，词语形容的对象通常是非常刻薄的，自私的，或是粗鲁无礼的。
