After a series of Good Luck Beijing sports events to test the Olympic venues, the host city Beijing and other supporting cities are making final renovations to a number of buildings that will be used during the Summer Games.

At the gymnastics venue in Beijing, the audience complained that the electric screen was too small to see clearly. Now, it has been replaced with a much bigger screen which has an area of nearly 70 square meters.

At the swimming center, or 'water cube', the number of seats for the media has been doubled. A special high platform was also built to assist international television broadcasts.

At Tian'anmen Square, a special flower terrace is being built for the OIympics.

In Qingdao city, where the sailing events will be held, foreign athletes are already training. Since mid-June, algae has began to accumulate. More than one thousand ships and ten thousand people are helping clear the water.

Yuan Zhiping from Qingdao Olympic Committee said, "We will finish clearing the whole area before mid July."

In Shenyang, where 12 football matches will be held, more than 25,000 troops, armed police and public security staff have been mobilized to ensure the security of Olympic events.
