We are standing in front of the Grand Staircase. This staircase has a total of three flights of stairs and 13 stairs per flight. The stairs are made of fine brown-veined marble. On each side of the stairs are two North American Bison, which once roamed the Canadian plains. The bison were created by French artist Charles Gardet, who also did the statue of the Golden Boy on top of the Legislative Building. The statues are made of bronze and weigh more than 2,000 kilograms each. Now, let's go up the stairs and head to the legislative chamber.
