142.In Line at the Library
142.在图书馆排队
"Hi, Samantha!" Carrie said as she lined up to get a university library card.
"嗨，萨曼莎！"排队拿借书证的卡丽说。
"Hi, Carrie! Are you finally getting a library card?" Samantha replied.
"嗨，卡丽！你终于要拿到借书证啦？"萨曼莎答道。
"Yep. Professor Bell lifted the ban on my checking out books and gave me the required letter of reference.
"是的，贝尔教授解除了我的借书禁令并给我开了要交的介绍信。
Now I have to get some books and work like crazy to catch up!"
现在我得借几本书，拼命学习，迎头赶上！"
"Yeah that was a weird punishment. But I guess that will teach you not to lie about all day!"
"是的，这种惩罚也太不可思议了。但我猜你会吸取教训，不会成天闲着了! "
Carrie laughed. "I'm not likely to forget that one! At least I took good notes!
卡丽笑了。"我不可能会忘了这次教训！至少我认真做了笔记！
I have each lecture written down line by line right here!" She said as she showed Samantha the notebook filled with notes.
我在这里一行一行地写着上课内容！"她边说边把写满笔记的笔记本给萨曼莎看。
"And you did that all without the readings?" Samantha asked as her face lit up at the excellent notes. "Can I copy them?"
"你没有阅读就写了这么多笔记？"萨曼莎问，看到那么漂亮的笔记，她脸露喜色。"我能抄一下吗？"
"I was hoping you'd ask! I saw how you didn't lift a finger to write anything down most of the last couple weeks and I was hoping we could make a deal!" Carrie said.
"我正希望你会这么问呢！我看你近几个星期没有动手写任何东西，我正琢磨着我们可以做个交易！"卡丽说。
"I am limited to checking out three books at a time-but I need five!
"我借书受限制，一次只能借三本, 可我需要五本!
I'll let you copy ray notes if you check out two books for me!"
如果你能替我借两本，我就让你抄我的笔记！"
"Sure. No problem!" Samantha replied. "But isn't that a lot of reading all at once?"
"好的。没问题！"萨曼莎回答说。"可你一次是不是读书太多了？"
"Maybe. But I have a light schedule right now and only eat a light lunch today!
"也许。不过现在我的安排不多，今天我准备随随便便吃顿午饭！
I should be able to read it all rather quickly!" Carrie answered as she lifted her bag up and moved forward closer to the desk.
我应该能很快把这些书读完！"卡丽说，她举起书包，朝书桌那边挪了挪。
"Just work under a good light bulb. I had a headache for days last week when I worked under a dim light!" Samantha said.
"注意学习时灯泡要好。上星期我在昏暗的灯光下学习之后头痛了好几天！"萨曼莎说。
"Sure. Thanks for helping." "The feeling's mutual!"
"肯定的。谢谢你的帮助！""大家彼此彼此！"
