Protesters hit the streets in some US cities following the release of footage Friday night showing a deadly police beating of an African American man.
美国田纳西州孟菲斯市当局27日晚公布了一非洲裔男子遭警察殴打的视频，该男子最终不治身亡。此事在当地引发示威活动。
The hour-long video captured several police officers beating Tyre Nichols, 29, during a traffic stop on Jan 7 in Memphis, Tenn, where they allegedly stopped him for reckless driving.
这段时长一个小时的视频显示，1月7日在纳西州孟菲斯市，数名警察因怀疑其危险驾驶而拦停了29岁的泰尔?尼科尔斯，并对其进行殴打。
The officers pepper-sprayed and shocked Nichols with Taser, while they can also be seen beating the motorist with a baton and kicking and punching him. Nichols, subdued, kept yelling "mom." Nichols died three days later in a hospital due to cardiac arrest and kidney failure.

The five officers involved in the death of Nichols were fired after an internal investigation and are facing criminal charges, including second-degree murder. They face up to 60 years in prison if convicted.

Demonstrations have broken out in cities including Memphis, Washington, D.C., New York, Atlanta, and Los Angeles, over the police treatment of Nichols.

President Joe Biden said in a statement that he was "outraged and deeply pained to see the horrific video of the beating that resulted in Tyre Nichols' death." "It is yet another painful reminder of the profound fear and trauma, the pain, and the exhaustion that Black and Brown Americans experience every single day," Biden said.
美国总统拜登27日发表声明说，看到尼科尔斯被殴打的视频，他感到愤怒和痛苦，称美国黑人等族裔每天都要经历这样的恐惧、创伤等。
