Tariffs for imports to be lowered
部分商品进口关税调整
The new interim tariff rates on imports, which will be lower than Most Favored Nation tariff rates, will apply to 883 kinds of goods as of Jan 1, including foods, medicines and information technology products, the Office of the Customs Tariff Commission of the State Council, which is based in the Ministry of Finance, announced on Wednesday.
根据财政部网站发布的通知，国务院关税税则委员会12月23日宣布，自2021年1月1日起，我国将对883项商品实施低于最惠国税率的进口暂定税率，这些商品包括食品、药品以及信息技术产品。
Import duties will be eliminated on some raw materials for medicines for cancer, and on some special formula foods for sick children. The changes are meant to lower prices and ease the burden on patients' families, according to a statement posted on the Ministry of Finance website.
通知称，对一些抗癌药原料以及特殊患儿所需食品等实行零关税，能降低这些药品和食品的价格，减轻患者家庭的经济负担。
