Merriam-Webster added more than 1,000 new words to the dictionary, finally giving legitimacy to the practices of binge-watching TV and cutting off contact with a date by acting as a "ghost".

"The words range from the scientific to the conversational, and have all been added to the dictionary because they have established themselves in the English language," Merriam-Webster said in a statement.
