A video of a pediatrician being hit and forced to kowtow by the family of a deceased child in a hospital in South China's Guangdong Province, went viral online, news portal southcn.com reported Tuesday.

His condition deteriorated and he was then transferred to Shenzhen Children's Hospital. The boy died on Sunday morning. His family claimed the Fifth People's Hospital's treatment was ineffectual and decided to take revenge on Monday.

The health and family planning bureau in Longgang confirmed that a dozen people assaulted a pediatrician surnamed Huang. However, Huang was not in charge of the baby's treatment, media reported.
