One of the main symptoms of diabetes is fatigue, along with excessive thirst and urination. Type 2 diabetes is associated with obesity and is more common in older people. Type 1 diabetes is far less common and occurs when the body's immune system attacks and destroys the cells that produce insulin. It usually occurs before the age of 40, often during teenage years.
