卫生部最新发布的草案中对公共厕所的臭味强度和蝇蛆数量等评价指标规定了限值。草案对对公共厕所的规划布局、设施设计、设施建设与日常管理等也提出卫生要求。
New standards on public restrooms指卫生部（The Ministry of Health）近日发布的强制性的“公厕新国标”草案。征求意见稿对公共厕所的规划布局（layout）、设施设计、设施建设与日常管理等提出卫生要求，并对公共厕所的臭味强度（odor intensity）和蝇蛆数量（the number of flies and maggots）等评价指标规定了限值。附属式公共厕所（toilets attached to other buildings） 每平方米苍蝇数小于等于1只，独立式公共厕所（ independent public toilets）小于等于3只。征求意见稿还规定，在公共厕所服务区内男女人群数量相当情况下，男女厕位（the number of stalls for men and women）比例宜为1∶2。
