【词义辨析】
pursue, follow, chase, hunt, trace, track, trail
这些动词均含“跟随、追踪”之意。
pursue指坚持不懈、毫不动摇地紧跟、追赶某人、某物或某个事业。
follow普遍用词，含义最广，多指跟随起引导作用的人或物，跟随的动机可以是善意的，也可能是恶意的。
chase指快速追赶或决心追踪，褒义贬义均可用。
hunt原义为“追猎、猎取”，现用于指追捕或搜寻逃犯等。
trace指根据线索或足迹进行跟踪。用于抽象意义时指找到某事物的根源。
track指沿着人或动物留下的印迹或行迹追踪。
trail一般指跟踪追击。
【例句用法】
She is pursuing her studies at the university.
她在大学继续深造。
The government is pursuing a policy of non-intervention.
政府正奉行不干预政策。
二.point:n.观点, 看法, 要点, 重点, 特点, 点, 地点, 小数点, 尖端, 岬角, 海角, 意义, 目标, 分数, (罗盘上的)方位点,(温度的)点, 插座, (字体)磅值
v.指, 指向, 朝向, 瞄准, 灰泥或水泥勾（某物）的砖缝
【语法用法】
point作为名词使用时，通常用短语“point of view”来表达一个“观点”或者“意见”；
当表达“这是...的观点”时，通常用“from...point of view”，例如from my point of view...(我的观点是...)；
point在美式英语中也用作“钢笔尖”或者“学分”，相当于英式英语中的“nib”与“credit”；
当point作为动词使用时，通常用“piont out”来表达“指出”，后可接双宾语。

They pointed the building out to us.
两句都指他们为我们指出那座建筑物。
[错句举例与错句分析]
错句: The point to be said is that we're not labelling anything.
订正: The point to be made is that we're not labelling anything.
翻译: 要表明的是，我们不做任何标签。
分析: 英语的习惯用法是make a point，而不是say a point.
【例句用法】
At one point I thought she was going to refuse, but in the end she agreed.
