Schools suspended, tourism affected in S. Korea

Affected by the MERS outbreak, many places in South Korea have cancelled large-scale activities including face celebrations and marathons.
Over 1,300 schools and kindergartens have suspended classes. Surgical masks have sold out in many places. Meanwhile, tourism has been affected greatly. Over 20,000 people have cancelled their trips to South Korea.
According to the country's tourism ministry, on Thursday alone, over 7,000 tourists from China and 1,000 from Japan cancelled their trips.
A travel agency manager said the number of tourists lost from China is expected to reach 100,000 in June.
