Xiaomi partners with Indian retail chain
小米手机与印度零售连锁店合作
Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has partnered with The Mobile Store retail chain to sell its devices in India, according to a company statement Tuesday.
India is the world's third largest smartphone market and the company's growth driver. Xiaomi is opening 100 stores across the country to increase awareness of its products and services. The announcement also included an online partnership with Snapdeal and the Indian unit of Amazon.com.
The company is well known for its online flash sales, but the availability is only for limited timeframes. Research shows that Xiaomi was not among the top five sellers in India's market as of the December quarter.
