China's weather observatory has issued a blue alert for a cold wave in the coming two days that will sweep central and east China. The National Meteorological Center forecasts sharp temperature drops of up to 10 degrees Celsius and heavy wind to Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Jilin and Liaoning provinces.
Temperatures in some parts of Qinghai and Shan'xi provinces are headed for declines of 10 degrees Celsius in coming two days. Meanwhile, heavy snow fell on parts of Qinghai province since Sunday, with snow levels accumulating up to 9 centimetres. Shan'xi province has issued orange alert for cold wave. Over in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, snowdrifts engulfed parts of the Tacheng area. Many were trapped, and emergency of firefighting forces have been deployed.
