1. contrast with
截然不同；有明显差异；对比鲜明；
eg. Johnson's easy charm contrasted sharply with the prickliness of his boss.
约翰逊的亲和力和他老板易怒的性格形成了鲜明的对比。
eg. The yellow curtains contrast with the blue bedcover.
黄色窗帘与蓝色床罩形成对比。
2. belong to
属于；
eg. Wheat, maize and oats belong to the grain group.
小麦，玉米及燕麦都属谷类。
eg. While the two are only days apart in age they seem to belong to wholly different generations.
尽管这两人年龄上只相差几天，他们却好像是属于完全不同时代的人。
3. in the face of
面对；在…面前；
eg. Its men are often helpless in the face of shocking violence.
当地人面对令人震惊的暴力时处于无助的状态。
eg. Action is the reason he hesitated: in the face of a great goal, he wants to take action but do not know how to action.
他行动犹豫的原因应该是：在一个伟大的目标面前，他想采取行动但却不知如何去行动。
4. no doubt
无疑地；必定；
eg. They have the usual quota of human weaknesses, no doubt.
毫无疑问，他们身上也有人所共有的弱点。
eg. They would no doubt welcome the action with open arms.
他们无疑将热烈欢迎这一举动。
5. on the other hand
（从）另一方面（来说）（用于引出相对照的另一点）；
eg. On the other hand, unexpected problems have arisen.
另外一方面，出现了许多未预料的问题。
eg. On the other hand, the idea appealed to him.
从另一方面来说，这个想法又使他很感兴趣。
