Cold front sweeps away heavy smog from N. China
北方遭遇冷空气袭击 浓雾消散
After a week of barely seeing anything, Beijing has finally been cleared of the choking, at least for now. Starting from Wednesday noon, a cold front that brought wind and rainfall to Northern China, cleared a week of severe air pollution.
Strong gales have also caused temperature drops of up to 14 degrees Celsius. In the past week, the National Meteorological Centre has issued 12 smog alerts, including 9 at the third level and 3 at the second highest level.
