Zara Phillips Gives Birth To Baby Daughter
The baby weighed 7lbs 12oz and Zara's husband, Mike Tindall, was present for the birth at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital.
Until today, they didn't know if they were having a boy or a girl. Early this morning, they finally find out, when their daughter arrived. The new royal baby was born at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital, a healthy 7 pounds 12 ounces. The Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh and the Princess Royal said they were delighted with the news. The couple are good friends with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, but the fanfare surrounding their baby's birth couldn't be more different. Zara Phillips and Mike Tindall were able to leave hospital and go home with minimal fuss. The Queen now has four great grandchildren. Prince George born last June is third in line to the throne. But the Queen's fourth great grandchild, born six months later, will be 16th in line, as she was born after her cousin and Irene Phillips. Like her parents, the new arrival to the family won't have a royal title. And with an Olympic silver medal winner and a former England rugby player for parents, the new baby may well grow up inmmersed in sport. But one thing the couple haven't told us yet is the baby's name. The most money has been put on Emma, but the bookie's favourite is Charlotte, closely followed by Ann after the baby's grandmother.
