鲁布•戈德堡Rube Goldberg
Miles G. A third illustration of the notion that our advances succumb to losses can be seen in my personal experience. For my final 8th grade science project, I was teamed up with four other boys and assigned to build a Rube Goldberg machine. Rube Goldberg made intricately complicated contraptions to perform menial tasks. My group decided to build a machine to place a stamp on a letter. We made many advances in devising our machine and drawing up the specifications for it. We thought that our contraption would receive first place and that we would finish early. Yet in the end, due to personal disagreements and calculation errors, our project lost points and did not turnout or perform like we hoped it would.
点评:这个段落写得真不错,尤其在这些句子中,如“Rube Goldberg made intricately complicated contraptions to perform menial tasks.”Miles 讲了一个精彩的故亊,“Yet in the end, due to personal disagreements and calculation errors, our project lost point and did not turnout or perform like we hoped it would.”,在这个句子中,他直指项目的核心问题,过渡词用得很好。
