Pressing Oil from Seeds
用种子榨油
Oil is separated from seeds by using pressure.
把油从种子里挤压出来，需要借助一定的外力。
A machine called a press is often used.
在此过程中，通常会用到一种叫做压榨机的机器。
The first step in pressing the oil from seeds is to crush the seeds between two stones.
榨油的第一步是把种子放在两块石头之间进行挤压，
A cloth container or bag is filled with the crushed seeds.
然后将挤压后的种子装在布袋或布制的容器里，
Then the bag is hung up.
接着把布袋悬挂起来，
Some of the oil will flow out of the bag and can be collected.
油便从布袋中流出，可以将这些油收集起来。
But some oil will remain in the crushed seeds inside the bag.
但是一些油仍然留在布袋里那些挤压过的种子中。
The easiest way to get the rest of the oil out is to place heavy rocks on the crushed material.
将这些剩下的油弄出来的最简单的方式是用重石头压那些挤压过的种子。
Another method is to place several cloth bags on top of each other in a box.

Then a long wooden stick is used to slowly push a heavy cover down on the bags.

Great pressure is produced in this way.

Much greater pressure can be produced by using a machine.

The greater the pressure, the more oil will be produced.
