PLA singer’s son faces arrest for alleged gang rape
李双江之子李天一涉嫌轮奸被逮捕
It is a look at a high profile case. Beijing Times reported on Saturday that the Beijing police has submitted its request to the procuratorate of Haidian District to arrest Li Guanfeng, son of famous PLA singer Li Shuangjiang. Li Guanfeng was detained on Feburary 21 along with four others, for their alleged involvement in a gang rape.
The report says Li has been cooperative during interrogation. The Beijing police also said the investigation and evidence collection have been moving forward well. This is not the first time that the 17-year-old has gotten into trouble. The junior Li and another teenager attacked a couple who allegedly blocked their driveway near the entrance of a residential community in Beijing two years ago. Li was driving a BMW without a license or plates. The other teenager’s car was also found to have forged plates. Li was later sent to a government correctional facility for one year. According to PRC laws, the procuratorate will decide whether to arrest him in the 7 days after receiving the request.
