“Malfoy, the Heir of Slytherin?” said Hermione skeptically.
“马尔福是斯莱特林的继承人？”赫敏怀疑地说。
“Look at his family,” said Harry, closing his books, too.
“看看他们那家人吧，”哈利也合上了书，
“The whole lot of them have been in Slytherin; he's always boasting about it.
“他们全家都在斯莱特林，他经常拿这个向人炫耀。
They could easily be Slytherin's descendants.
他们很可能是斯莱特林的后代。
His father's definitely evil enough.”
他父亲就够邪恶的。”
“They could've had the key to the Chamber of Secrets for centuries!” said Ron.
“他们也许拿着密室的钥匙，拿了好几个世纪！”罗恩说道，
“Handing it down, father to son. . . .”
“一代代往下传，父亲传给儿子……”
“Well,” said Hermione cautiously, “I suppose it's possible. . . .”
“是啊，”赫敏谨慎地说，“我认为这是可能的……”
“But how do we prove it?” said Harry darkly.
“我们怎么证明呢？”哈利悲观地说。
“There might be a way,” said Hermione slowly, dropping her voice still further with a quick glance across the room at Percy.
“也许有一个办法，”赫敏慢慢地说，匆匆扫了一眼房间那头的珀西，把声音放得更低了
“Of course, it would be difficult. And dangerous, very dangerous.
“当然啦，做起来不太容易，而且危险，非常危险。
We'd be breaking about fifty school rules, I expect—”
我们大概要违犯五十条校规。”
“If, in a month or so, you feel like explaining, you will let us know, won't you?” said Ron irritably.
“再过一个月左右，如果你愿意对我们说了，才会告诉我们，是吗？”罗恩不耐烦地说。
“All right,” said Hermione coldly.
“好吧，现在告诉你们也无妨。”赫敏冷静地说，
“What we'd need to do is to get inside the Slytherin common room and ask Malfoy a few questions without him realizing it's us.”
“我们需要做的事情就是进入斯莱特林的公共休息室，向马尔福问几个问题，同时不让他认出我们。”
