On a typical rainy morning in London, Kate Middleton was a ray of sunshine on the balcony of Buckingham Palace, all smiles, and waving at the crowd of onlookers during the annual Trooping the Colour — her first public appearance since revealing her cancer battle.

Her composure appeared calm and collected on the outside as she put on “her game face”.

Kate said in her statement that she is "not out of the woods yet" and the palace has repeatedly emphasized to journalists that Kate’s attendance at Trooping the Colour should not be confused with the assumption she is now on a glide path back to public life.
