01.The color doesn't suit me

谈到怎么用英语表达"不适合我"、"我不是太喜欢"，Jenny这样讲了自己在加拿大丝芙兰退口红的经历:

I was returning a lipstick at Sephora. The cashier asked about the reason.

我在丝芙兰退口红，收银员问了我原因。

I said:“The color doesn't suit me.”

我说：“这个颜色不适合我。”

She said: “So you're not into it.”

她说：“所以你不是太喜欢它。”

这里的一大知识点是：

suit 对(某人)方便; 满足(某人)需要; 合(某人)心意

如果说"This dress doesn't suit me"一般表示你对裙子的颜色/款式/尺码并不太满意。

I don't think a sedentary life would altogether suit me.

我不喜欢定居一处的生活。

They should be able to find you the best package to suit your needs.

他们应该能找到最能满足你需求的方案。

Jenny问道：suit可以形容人与人不合适吗？当然：

He doesn't suit you.

他和你不合适

suitable 合适的; 适宜的

suitable for 适合于

She had no other dress suitable for the occasion.

她没有其他适合这个场合的裙子了

当然，suit 作为名词也还有西装和套装的意思。

02.Compatible & Fit

“合适”还有另外两种说法：

compatible [k?m?p?t?bl] 兼容的; 可共存的

compatible with.../people or technology 与人合得来/与技术适配

Maybe your Andorid charger isn't compatible with your iPhone.

可能你的安卓充电线就不和苹果手机兼容。

对于这种incompatibility（不兼容），Adam的建议是：

Buy an adapter.

买个转接器！

此外还有：

fit 适合，合身

These shoes don't fit me.

这双鞋不合我的尺码。

在社交环境中，

fit in 合群，融入群体。

同样的意思也可以名词使用

good fit 合适的选择

He's not a good fit in/with this team.

他和这个团队不太合得来。

03.Really & Not in love with it

Adam还提到，在口语表达中，一个关键词可以软化语气：really.

当说"Don't like it"稍显生硬时，就可以说"Don't really like it"，显得更客气。

Adam讲道，自己当要对同事们的想法发表异见时，会把like替换成love:

Not in love with it.

Not loving it.

甚至可以说：

Not married to it.

来表达自己不置可否，期待改变。

04.Not my cup of tea

Not crazy about it.

其实这样说，已经暗示了：如果没有更好的选择I will go with it（我也可以接受这样）。

更直接生硬的说法是：

Not a fan/not a big/huge fan.

为了leave room for the speech（留些商议空间），你可以应用我们之前讲到的技巧，说：

I'm really not the world's biggest fan.

Not my cup of tea.

不是我的菜

Hiking is not my cup of tea.

我不喜欢远足。

Meh
