We're hugely dependent on language to help us express what we really think and feel but some languages are better than others at crisply naming important feelings. Germans have been geniuses at inventing long or what get called "compound words" that elegantly put a finger on sensations that we all know, but that other languages require whole clumsy sentences or paragraphs to express.
我们非常仰赖语言来帮助我们表达我们内心真正的想法和感受,但有些语言却比其他语言更能直接了当地说出一些重要的感触。德国人就非常擅长发明一些较长的单词或所谓的“复合词”,这些词可以优雅而准确地说出我们的感受。这些感受我们都明白,但其他语言却必须要用到整个句子或整个段落来赘述,才能表达的出来。
