A lot going on: 年底活动多
Activities:
Kids activities:
Outdoor activities:
There's a lot of things going on: 很多活动

Going out with friends
Getting together with friends

Restaurants are very full this time of the year: 这段时间饭店特别满
So are our stomachs:

Paying for the bill
请客:
Treating people
I got this: 我请客、我买单
It's on me.
This one is on me.
Let me get it.
I'm buying lunch/dinner/drinks.
I got this.
I got it.
It's my treat.
I'll get dinner. You get drinks.
Dinner is on me. You cover the drinks.

Bar-hopping:
Hop:
One person get drinks at one bar:

If you get drunk and forget to pay, they have your card:
Buy rounds:
I'm getting this round:
那Go Dutch呢?
Split the bill:分摊
Let's split the bill
Let's split dinner/drinks.
Separate checks:
在美国,服务生看到一群人聚餐,会问你是否要"separate checks"; 但这也给饭店造成额外的工作,所以有些饭店会手续surcharge(额外费用);
No separate checks"
Who picks up the bill?
If you invite people or initiate the gathering:
"I'd like to invite you/take you out to dinner":
"Let's get together":
It also depends on how big the group is: 也看一共多少人
Big groups usually split the bill::
Do men always pay?
If it's romantic, maybe the first few dates:
If it's not romantic, people just split the bill:
Overall, splitting the bill is much more common than one person paying:
Hospitable & reciprocal:
Chinese are very hospitable:
Many like to treat foreign friends:
Reciprocity:
Return the favor:同上
Goes back and forth:
Generous vs. cheap:
Cheap
Miserly
Stingy
Cheapskate:
Generous
Giving
Always treating people
