People use the idiom "water under the bridge" to express that a past event cannot be changed.
人们用"岁月流逝"这个短语来形容一个过去的事件已经无法改变。
You can't control the natural flow of water,
你无法改变自然流动的水,
just as you can't go back and change the course of a past event.
就如你无法回到过去,亦或是改变历史发展进程。
