A:I have found it quite different here from China since I came to the United States.
A:我到美国后已经发现这里和中国太不一样。
B:What's the difference ?
B:什么不一样?
A:Some friends of mine took me to the mall to go shopping. It was so big. I think I could get lost if I went there alone.
A:我的朋友带我到购物中心去买东西。那里太大了,我想如果我一个人去的话可能会迷路。
B:You must have bought many things in the mall?
B:那你肯定在购物中心买了不少东西吧?
A:Not really many. I was told that on weekends there were always the flea markets, so I decided to come to the flea market to buy a bargain.
A:并没有多少。我得知周末总有跳蚤市场,所以我就想到跳蚤市场上淘点便宜货。
B:It's wise to do it. The Americans have the habit of selling their junk when they are moving to another place, so they usually display all the things they want to sell in their gardens at the weekend. And many things they are selling still look quite new and they are also very useful.
B:这样做很聪明。美国人有搬家卖旧货的习惯,他们经常会在周末把要卖的东西摆在他们家的院子里。而且很多东西都很新,很实用。
A:I have heard about it while in China. it is called a "yard sale". I didn't have any idea of that until today when I came here to the big "yard sale".
A:我在中国时就听说过这个叫做“庭院旧货出售”的词。直到今天我到过这个大型的“庭院旧货出售”,对它才有所了解。
B:You must have got many useful things for your new apartment.
B:你肯定为你那新公寓房添置了不少有用的东西吧。
