no match for 敌不过

此语多与系动同连用,意为“比对方弱，敌不过”。与之相似的be more than a match for则指“比某人强”。

【对话】

A:Tom is no match for Jack in Mathematies.
A:汤姆数学不如杰克。
B:But Jack is no match for Tom in P.E.
B:杰克体育没汤姆好。
A:I think math is more important than P.E.
A:我觉得数学比体育重要。
B:You must have prejudice against P.E. giants.

A:Maybe. But for the best student, I still think Jack is the right choise.
