Rising wages and shrinking export demand are forcing manufacturers to relocate to neighboring Southeast Asian nations and many that remain are seriously considering moving in a trend that is called the great industry transfer.
工资上涨和出口需求缩减迫使制造业厂商迁移到邻近的东南亚国家,那些尚未迁移的也在认真考虑这个问题。这一迁移行为被称为“工业大迁移”。
Great industry transfer就是所谓的“工业大迁移”,指在成本日渐上升、出口需求下降的情况下,国内不少traditional labor-intensive manufacturers(传统的劳动密集型制造产业)开始迁移到人力成本更低的东南亚国家。Transfer和relocate在这里都是“转移、迁移”的意思,用法也相似,均为transfer/relocate somebody/something to…的搭配。不同的是transfer还可以做名词,指银行“转账”或者职位“调任”,如:The bank reserves the right to reverse any transfers or payments. (银行保留撤销任何转账或支付操作的权利。)
业内人士表示,此类迁移总体上与国家upgrade China's industrial power(升级中国产业力量)和change its model of economic growth(转变经济增长模式)的方针一致。“十二五”规划也要求出口厂商多生产high-end goods(高端产品)。
