A Summer Light in the Mountain
Lin Huiyin
There is a summer in the mountain,
As deep as being without bottom,
Dark shadows of dense pine forest,
Without any light all round.
One or two lamps twinkle in the opposite mountain
As the eyes of night, sweeping!
Wind all over the mountain creeps around,
As if walking on tiptoe,
Silently slipping by branches everywhere,
Grasses everywhere.
Only the water runs endlessly in the valley,
With the heart, the mouth of stone singing.
The chirping weaves a calm setting, loneliness
Just like a hanging veiling;
The summer wooded mountains sleep inside,
With faint fragrance floating all around.
Silently shadows rest on shadows;
Night silence, yet ears of night listening to!
