In 2015, we commemorate International Day of Peace along with the 70th anniversary of UNESCO.

For seventy years, our message has been the same. Peace must be built in the minds of women and men, on the basis of human rights and dignity, through cooperation in education, the sciences, culture, communication and information. Solidarity and dialogue are the strongest foundations for peace, guided by equality, respect and mutual understanding.
七十年来，我们传递着相同的信息。必须于人之思想中、在人权和尊严的基础上、通过教育、科学、文化、传播和信息领域的合作建设和平。在平等、尊重和相互理解等原则的指引下，团结与对话是和平的最坚实基础。
In turbulent times, when all societies are transforming and culture is under attack, this message has never been so important. This is turning point year for the world, when States will define a new global sustainable development agenda. This must be an agenda for peace, through partnership across the globe and at all levels of society. Today, I believe each of us has a shared responsibility to shape a better future for all through peacebuilding in our own lives, every day.
当今时期风云变幻，所有社会变幻莫测，文化受到攻击，该信息便具有空前重要的意义。今年是世界的转折之年，因为各国将制定新的全球可持续发展议程。通过在全球范围内、在社会所有层面建立伙伴关系，该议程必须是一个促进和平的议程。今天，我相信，通过在每日生活中建设和平来创造一个更加美好的未来，这是我们的共同责任。
Peace is more than the absence of armed conflict between and within States. The UNESCO 1989 International Congress on Peace in the Minds of Men, held in Yamoussoukro, was clear – promoting a culture of peace calls for building mutual understanding between communities, social groups and individuals. Today, more than ever, human rights and dignity must be our starting point, and dialogue must be our most powerful tool. The International Decade for the Rapprochement of Cultures (2013-2022), proclaimed by the UN General Assembly, is being spearheaded by UNESCO to these ends, promoting the wealth of cultural diversity and building new bridges of dialogue. The same spirit guides UNESCO's new Integrated Framework for Action, Empowering Youth to Build Peace, which seeks to equip young women and men with knowledge, skills and values that empower them to live peaceful, constructive and productive lives and to engage as responsible global citizens.
国家间和国内没有武装冲突并非就意味着和平。在亚穆苏克罗举行的教科文组织1989年“和平在人心中”国际大会传递出明确的信息：要促进和平文化，就必须在社区之间、社会群体之间和个人之间建立相互理解。人权和尊严在今天比以往任何时候都更要成为我们的起点，对话必须成为我们最有力的工具。教科文组织致力于促进文化多样性财富和建设对话之桥，堪称实施联合国大会宣布的“国际文化和睦十年”（2013—2022）的先导。在同一精神指引下，教科文组织新的综合行动框架“增强青年能力建设和平”寻求用知识、技能和价值观来武装青年，让他们过上和平、建设性和创造性的生活，做负责任的世界公民。
No State, no matter how powerful, can ensure peace alone. Together, in partnership, we can build the defences of peace in the minds of every woman and man – especially young minds – to foster new relations of harmony and compassion with others and the world.
任何国家，不论多么强大，都无法凭一己之力确保和平。只有团结起来成为合作伙伴，我们才能于人之思想中，特别是在青年之思想中筑起保卫和平之屏障，促进与他人和世界建立和谐与同情的新关系。
