Pompeii: The city that became a time capsule around the end of the first century AD, a Roman writer called pliny wrote about a devastating volcanic eruption, that he had witnessed as a young man. The eruption had occurred on August 24th,79AD and it was of Mount Vesuvius in Italy. Pliny described a cloud coming down the mountain, blocking out the sun and burying everything in its path, including whole villages and towns. The tragedy had left a deep impression on Pliny who had lost an uncle in the event. Yet, over the centuries, the people who disappeared under the ashes of Mount Vesuvius were gradually forgotten by the world, and the locations of the buried towns and villages were lost. However, more than 1,600 years later, some archaeologists, started uncovering the lost town that were buried under the ashes of Mount Vesubius.
