Too Diligent

A shipment came into the port. It contained crystal being
imported into the country. When the dock workers were
unloading the cargo,their supervisor came by to check if
everything was okay with the crystal. He saw a new
packaging worker and patted his shoulder, saying, "Oh,
you are doing well and I observe that you have done
as I asked. You have stamped the top end of each box with 'This
side up, handle with care.' This is very good. You are doing a very
good job, and you haven't missed a box. You've stamped every
box. I've noticed that. This is good, very good."
"Yes, sir, I am a very, very diligent man, as I told you on my first
day of work. I even stamped the bottom end of each box with
the same mark. I stamped both ends, just to be sure."

勤奋过度

有一艘货船进港卸货，船上装载的是进口水晶，这些水晶被运送到这个
国家来。当工人把装水晶的箱子搬出来时，一位监工过来巡视，检查看
看水晶有没有任何问题。他看到一位新来的包装工人，就拍拍他的肩膀
说：「嗯，你做得很好，我看到你完全遵照我的指示，在每个箱子的顶
端都盖了『此面朝上，小心轻放』的警示戳记，非常好，表现优秀，没
有漏掉任何一个箱子，全都盖上戳记，我都注意到了，很好。」工人回
答：「是的，监工，我第一天来上班的时候就告诉过您，我工作非常勤
奋，这次我甚至连箱子底部也都盖了同样的戳记，所以两面都有，绝对
不会有问题！」
