President Xi Jinping says China stands ready to work with Sri Lanka to boost bilateral cooperation and support the South Asian country's post-pandemic economic recovery.
He made the remarks in a phone conversation with his Sri Lankan counterpart.
The Chinese president calls on both sides to steadily push forward major projects and to promote high-quality collaboration in jointly building the Belt and Road.
He says China will continue to provide assistance to Sri Lanka's fight against COVID-19 and advance cooperation in fields including aviation and education.
China and Oman have agreed to enhance cooperation and further develop bilateral relations.
This comes after visiting Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with his Omani counterpart Sayyid Badr Hamad al-Busaidi.
Wang says China aims to boost its cooperation with Oman in various fields including energy, investment, fisheries and the high-tech industry.
Chinese authorities have refuted accusations by U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken regarding the upcoming final report from the World Health Organization on the work of tracing the origin of COVID-19 in China.
Blinken expressed concern over the report, claiming that China was helping to write it.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zhao Lijian says the country will never accept such accusations on issues regarding the pandemic.
"As we have said many times, China was the first to report the pandemic to the WHO, the first to release key information such as the gene sequence of the novel coronavirus, and the first to release diagnosis, treatment and prevention and control plans."
Zhao says the WHO-China joint exert team visited nine locations during their research trip and had exchanges with medical staff and recovered patients, and that those arrangements were all made at the request of the joint mission.
