This eleven-year-old boy had been sleeping when the quake struck at 4:00 a.m.. His legs trapped under the rubble. Rescuers today were eventually able to free him. He survived because his grandmother reportedly sheltered him from the falling debris at the cost of her life. 20 miles away from the epicenter, the quake was powerful enough to pancake many buildings, including this hotel. The boy plucked from the broken concrete is expected to recover. Rescue workers say they have pulled dozens of people from collapsed buildings and tonight they are still frantically searching for more.
