The king of Belgium has named Sophie Vilnius as interim Prime Minister making her the first woman to hold the post. She replaces shall Michelle who is set to take over from Donald Tusk as European Council president in December. Vilnius has served as Belgium's budget minister since 2015. She'll lead a caretaker government until the country's political parties can agree on forming a coalition. Belgium has not had a full federal government since December 2018 when a coalition led by the outgoing Prime Minister collapsed.
