The latest China Top 500 Enterprises list was released yesterday, with Sinopec, China National Petroleum Corporation and State Grid nabbing the top three spots.
The enterprises on the list posted record gross operating revenue of 79 trillion yuan last year, those again up 11 percent year on year.
Zhu Hongren is with China Enterprise Confederation which released the list.
"We can see from the list that the structure of enterprises has been adjusted to some extent, with the numbers of enterprises representing advanced manufacturing and the modern service industry keeping growing. The world today is undergoing major changes unseen in a century. In the course of China's integration into the world, the Belt and Road Initiative has opened a very important path of internationalization for us."
Three energy companies, a construction company, an insurance firm, and five banks are among the Top 10.
This year's list of China's Top 500 enterprises shows a significant increase in the number of businesses with operating revenue of more than 100 billion yuan.
