There's been a tragic end to the search for a missing child near the Sunshine Coast in Queensland's south-east. Scores of local residents and SES volunteers took part in a torchlight search for the girl last night, after she went missing on a five acre property in the Noosa Hinterland. Police say divers found the body of the 3-year old girl in a dam around midnight just 150 meters from the house where she was last seen yesterday afternoon at Cooth-Araba. Police are now investigating the circumstances of the girl's death and are preparing a report for the coroner.
Former fugitive Jonathan Dick has been charged with murder over the death of his brother. He's due to appear in court again today after being arrested yesterday. The 41-year old who had been on the run from police for two and half years, after his brother, David Dick was killed at a Melbourne shopping centre in 2017.
Newly discovered audio shows controverisal broadcaster Alan Jones suggested New Zealand's prime minister Jacinda Ardern should be "backhanded" because of her stance on climate change. The ABC's "Media Watch" program has broadcast audio from last Thursday of Mr. Jones urging Australia's prime minister Scott Morrison "get tough" with Ms. Adern. The Sydney shock-jock has apologised for comments he made later that morning on his 2GB Breakfast Show, where he said Scott Morrison should "shove a sock" down the throat of the New Zealand prime minister.
