Huawei has laid off more than two-thirds of its 850 person workforce at its future way technologies research farm in the United States since being blacklisted by Washington. Futurewei has offices over in Silicon Valley and near Seattle, Chicago and Dallas and says that it eliminated more than 600 jobs effective Monday. Huawei said the cuts were “due to the curtailment of business operations” caused by the blacklisting. The blacklisting has made it illegal for a future way to transfer sensitive technologies to its parent and also restricts Huawei from purchasing products from us technology companies. Huawei employed around 1,500 people in the United States, the rest of the company's American employees. Well they managed its supply chain customer support and other functions such as public affairs.
