Indonesia's president has decided to move the country's capital off the crowded main island of Java. Joko Widodo stressed the need for a new way of thinking about Indonesia's future. He said the move could take up to ten years, citing Brazil and Kazakhstan as examples. According to the Planning Minister the government has yet to pick a new location. But they have been looking at the eastern side of the archipelago. The decision comes after private posters say Jokowi won a recent presidential election. The current capital Jakarta is home to more than 10 million people. The low-lying City is prone to flooding and chronic traffic congestion.
