A strong earthquake caused panic on Indonesia's island of Lombok on Thursday. At least 220 people are known dead from an earthquake that hit the island last Sunday.
Immigration agents raided Minnesota and Nebraska businesses accused of knowingly hiring and mistreating immigrants illegally in the US. At least 14 business owners and managers and dozens of other emplyees were arrested.
The record-sized wildfires in northern California is now about half contained. Firefighters from overseas and prison inmates are assisting Cailifornia crews.
And the California fires are leaving a dull haze and smoky smell over Sacramento. Many people are staying indoors with the air quaility considered dangerous for children, the elderly and people with breathing problems.
