China's consulate general in Vietnam's Ho Chi Minh City has expressed condemnation over a incident that a Chinese citizen's passport was defaced.
A Chinese woman on Saturday found her passport scribbled with vulgar messages after the border agent handed it back at the Tan Son Nhat International Airport. The scribblings were on two pages, containing the dotted line denoting China's sovereignty in the South China Sea.
China's consulate general says the 'offensive scribbling' on the passport was shameless and cowardly, adding that the incident had stained the dignity of China and its citizens. Vietnam says will probe the incident.
