A recent study by researchers at an institute with the Chinese Academy of Sciences shows that China consumed 162,000 tons of antibiotics in 2013, more than half of the global total.About 52 percent of the antibiotics were used on livestock and 48 percent on humans.More than 50,000 tons ended up in the water and soil.This is the first comprehensive evaluation of China's antibiotic use and emissions.So what potential dangers are lying under the overuse of antibiotics?How alert should we be about the problem?
