With the theme of "Rethinking Africa's Growth Strategy", the forum will get together 11 heads of state or government, nearly 1,000 experts on economics and finance and officials.
They will try to unveil the secrets of the economic recovery in Africa, which sees a faster pace than expected. They will also discuss the crucial role of infrastructure and empowerment of women and education in pushing forward Africa's holistic development.
The host of the forum, Tanzania's President Jakaya Kikwete says Africa is full of potentials and he expects to see a sustainable development strategy for Africa's economic growth.
"Africa is a continent full of potential. Africa has been growing despite the economic instability that is facing the world today. We expect that participants will have the opportunity to examine the strategy of Africa for today to ensure that there is a better tomorrow."
Katherine Tweedie, Director of the Head of Africa, World Economic Forum, hailed Africa's faster than expected economic recovery.
"I think as we have come through the economic crisis, Africa has surprised many with the resilience and faster than expected recovery. So key sessions throughout the courses of the three days will be looking at the drivers behind Africa's growth, including the social factors but help underpin the future for Africa."
Katherine Tweedie adds that as Africa and the rest of the world seek answers to the economic crisis, the meeting will bring together leaders under the theme 'Rethinking Africa's Growth Strategy' to find real solutions.
