China Claims 2nd Win in Women's Volleyball
China won 3:1 against European champion Poland Monday night at the women's volleyball tournament of the Beijing Olympics. This is the second win since its victory against Venezuela last Saturday.
China managed to turn the table over loss in the first set. Veteran player Zhao Ruirui said they failed to seize some opportunities in that set.
"In the first set, we were still trying to find our beat. It was a bit messy and missed a lot of good chances. But our opponent was more relaxed. Finally we were more relaxed and won the game."
Head coach Chen Zhonghe said the team still needs to improve itself in many aspects.
"In the first set, we had over ten slips, and failed to grasp the opportunities to launch effective counter attacks. There are also problems in passes. The team is still not so stable. Defense is also not good enough."
The coach also told his players to adjust their psychological status and get prepared for the tough battle ahead.
China will face its old rival Cuba in their next match.
