Lesson 05 Dialogue Landing a New Job
Todd: Hey, Judy. I can't believe I'm bumping into you! How are things with you?
Judy: Pretty good!
Todd: Susan tells me you just joined a new company. How do you like it so far?
Judy: To be honest with you, it's been pretty tough. I worked freelance before I moved to this company. I'm currently working in the Sales Department.
We sell software to small businesses. I'm mainly responsible for resolving customer complaints by investigating problems and also working on two other projects at the same time.
Todd: Seriously?
Judy: Yeah, but I'm getting a pay hike with great perks. Overall, it's not too bad, but I still miss having more flexible hours sometimes.
Todd: Yeah, well, you can't have your cake and eat it, too. So, tell me more about your company. How many people are working there?
Judy: It's a New York-based company that has fewer than 100 employees.
Todd: Who are your major competitors?
Judy: Have you ever heard of this software company "McM"? It's one of the top 10 software companies.
Todd: Sounds like you landed a good job.
Judy: I know I shouldn't complain. I really lucked out this time.
