Lesson 02 Dialogue Striving for the Deadline
Allen: Hi, Marcus, how are you dealing with the impending deadline? Are you in serious crunch time?
Marcus: For sure! As you know, I tend to be a perfectionist, so being punctual is difficult.
Allen: No doubt, I can relate. Really, all of us face constraints, so we just need to be persistent and prioritize.
Also, I have learned to exploit a few "life hacks" taking advantage of some new tech apps and lifestyle tricks.
Marcus: I like what you say! That reminds me... I have been trying to learn how to consolidate my tasks and even automate some processes.
Allen: I agree! It seems that most procrastination is half the cause of all crises.
Hey, let's talk to the boss about crowdsourcing our data gathering.
Marcus: That's a great idea; it might save us time.
However, we can't really avoid those unfortunate contingencies that tend to pop-up.
Allen: Quite right! What's amusing is that sometimes workers perform best in an urgent situation.
Marcus: Well, urgency or no urgency, you know our boss loathes the tardy worker.
Plus, nobody truly has job security these days!
Allen: Well, I guess to contribute to the group, each person should strive for his own personal best. So, lets get back to work!
