December 18, 2005
Dear Helen,
I’m very happy to inform you that on the 12th of this month I gave birth to a baby girl. She weighs 8 pounds and 2 ounces, and is perfectly healthy. They tell me it was an easy birth, though it sure didn’t seem easy at the time!
We were discharged from the hospital two days ago. I’m still getting used to having to get up in the middle of the night to feed her. But whenever I look at her, I know she’s worth all the trouble.
Sincerely,
Cathy Patterson
