这里是《每日语法》节目。我是约翰·罗素。
Have you ever had a snoopy neighbor or relative?
你有爱窥探别人隐私的邻居或亲戚吗?
You know, the kind of person who is too curious-they ask a lot of questions.
你知道,就是那种好奇过度的人——他们有一堆问题。
Well, my neighbor is a snoop.
我的邻居就是一个爱窥探隐私的人。
She asks about every little thing.
每件小事她都要问。
Here's an example.
举个例子。
Your neighbor asked about you.
你的邻居问起你了。
Really? What did she ask about?
是吗?她问什么了?
She asked about your salary.
她问了你的薪水。
Today we will explore the grammar behind the actions of curious people.
今天我们将探讨好奇的人这种行为背后的语法。
What do curious people do?
好奇的人爱做什么?
They ask about something or someone.
他们喜欢问东问西。
"Ask about" is a common verb and preposition combination.
“询问”是一个常见的动词和介词组合。
"Ask" is the verb. "About" is the preposition.
“问”是动词。“关于”是介词。
In the example you heard, my neighbor asked about something-how much money I made.
在刚刚你听到的例子中,我的邻居问了一件事——我赚了多少钱。
But you can also ask about a person.
但是你也可以询问人。
When you ask about a person, you are asking about their situation, their health, their character or something else.
当你询问人的时候,也就是你在问他们的境况、健康、性格等等别的什么。
Verb and preposition combinations, such as "ask about", might look like phrasal verbs, but they have an important difference.
动词和介词组合,比如“询问”,可能看起来像动词短语,但它们有一个重要的区别。
Verb and preposition combinations are not idiomatic.
动词和介词的组合是不常用的。
You can learn about idiomatic expressions in other videos on our website.
